Sonoma Water Presentation on the Russian River Water Forum

At the April membership meeting, Mike Thompson from the water agency updated the group on how Sonoma Water is moving forward with the funds from a DWR grant they received. They formed the Russian River Water Forum, which is focusing on water resiliency planning in light of the changes that may come with the Potter Valley Project decommissioning. The forum’s planning group will meet monthly and bring interested parties in the Russian River and Eel River basins together. The diverse group includes six agricultural members and alternates.

The following people were selected to serve on the planning group:

John Nagle, Member (RRPOA member)

Denny Murphy, Member (RRPOA member)

Allan Nelson, Member (RRPOA member)

Adriane Garayalde, Alternate (RRPOA member)

Bill Ricioli, Alternate

Pam Bacigalupi, Alternate (RRPOA member)

If you’re interested in attending, the meetings are open to the public. The first meeting is May 17 in Ukiah. Check out their website for details: https://russianriverwaterforum.org/planning-group/
